- 33 ft / 10 m of braided cord, stored on a reel that fits in one hand
- Carabiner at the top, a clip on the free end, a sliding lock to take up slack
- Needs two anchor points — trees, tent poles, a post, a balcony rail
- Orange housing, orange cord — for light laundry, not heavy wet loads
A clothesline that packs like a tape measure.
The cord winds onto a round plastic reel about the size of a palm. Pull out what the gap between your two anchors needs and leave the rest on the spool. It sits in a pack pocket or the lid of a suitcase, and it does not knot itself the way loose cord does.

It needs two anchor points.
There is no stand and nothing to drive into the ground, so find your two points before you unwind anything — two trunks, two tent poles, a post and a rail. Loop the cord around the anchor, pass it back through the sliding lock, and pull the slack out until the line sits straight. The carabiner on the housing takes the other end.

Only as much line as the span wants.
The cord leaves the reel through a molded cleat under the housing and ends in a small clip. Take out the length you need, hook the clip on, and wind the rest back when you break camp. A short run across a hotel bathroom and a long one between two trees come off the same spool.

A light line, and one you can see.
The housing and the cord are both orange, which is easy to pick out at dusk — worth something when a line crosses a path at head height. It is a light line all the same: swimwear, socks, a rinsed shirt, a damp towel. Wring things out before they go up, spread them along the span instead of bunching them in the middle, and keep heavy wet loads off it. Let the cord dry before you wind it all the way back onto the reel.

FAQ
How long is the line?
33 ft / 10 m, as stated by the manufacturer. You pull out as much as the span needs and the rest stays wound on the reel, so a short indoor run and a long one between trees use the same spool.
What do I attach it to?
Two fixed points, roughly shoulder height or above — two tree trunks, two tent poles, a post and a balcony rail. There is no stand, no pole and no ground stake in the box, so the line only goes up where there is something solid at both ends.
How much can I hang on it?
Light laundry. A thin cord on a plastic reel suits swimwear, socks, a shirt and a towel. Heavy wet items sag the line and pull on whatever it is tied to, so wring things out first and spread the weight along the span rather than bunching it in the middle.
Do clothespins come with it?
No. The reel, the cord and its clips are what arrive. Bring pins if you want them, or fold items over the line.
Will the line stay tight?
Pull the slack through the sliding lock once the line is up and it holds. Cord stretches a little under weight and in damp weather, so expect to retighten it after you load it, and again the next morning if it stays out overnight.
Does it work indoors?
Yes, where there are two fixed points to work with — a towel bar and a window catch in a hotel bathroom, for instance. Avoid a shower curtain rod or anything else that comes away from the wall under a pull.
